CNC-milled data inspired wayfinding installation

Highlighting the importance of clear circulation paths for visitors at UCSD, the goal was to create a piece that prioritized durability, low maintenance, and timeless design, free from reliance on digital components. Drawing inspiration from abstracted datasets, we developed a dynamic composition that merges data-driven artistry with functionality. Using a CNC milling process, we meticulously excavated layered materials to craft a striking installation that seamlessly integrates into its surroundings, serving as both a welcome feature and a thoughtful reflection of the campus innovative spirit.
