Steam-bent oak sculptural installation
To infuse warmth and character into the UCSD commons area, we employed 4,000 linear feet of meticulously steam-bent, 3” x 3/8” white oak to craft five grand, woven basket forms of varying sizes. These sculptural installations not only serve as anchors for each vendor location but also weave a sense of organic fluidity and tactile elegance throughout the space. The intricate curves and natural textures invite visitors into an environment that is both grounded and welcoming, offering a harmonious blend of craftsmanship and comfort.
