Topography inspired space at San Diego Airport

Airspace, located in San Diego International Airport Terminal 2, is an immersive space inspired by the region’s ecology and topography. Designed by Jason Bruges Studio, it features two zones: the Topographical Landform and the Trajectory Chandelier. The Landform, made of over 30 stacked plywood layers, serves as seating and charging stations, highlighting stratigraphic contours. Overhead, the 30 foot Trajectory Chandelier, a suspended steel mesh, doubles as a projection screen displaying real-time data in fluid, dynamic patterns, enhancing the room’s immersive atmosphere.
